After 5 years, 3 concepts, and 20 lbs, I can finally say I am a published author. Technically a self-published author, but if I sell 100 books I can drop the ‘self.’ I started baking when I was a kid and really got into it in my twenties, baking for TV shows and competing on FoodNetwork’s Cupcake Wars (twice). Baking was my form of self-therapy. As you know from my blog I have Alopecia Areata, and my worst days were spent in the kitchen. I dedicated this book to my Alopecia, because believe it or not it was my muse.
What to Bake When: A Baking Handbook for the Basic Bitch is a life-hack book centered on baking from a self-taught baker (that’s me, duh). It’s for the basic bitch who doesn’t take life too seriously, and has a few feelings to eat.
Recipes range from holidays to everyday life occasions (like PMS, or new neighbors), on simple to moderate levels. Each recipe is crafted with love and made with ingredients that are easy to find no matter where you live.
My good friend Erin LaBrecque did the photography, so all 55 recipes have a photo.
You can purchase this beauty here if you want a signed copy (’cause you know I’m gonna blow up!) or Amazon. I love reviews, so please don’t be shy! Send this to all the bakers, basic bitches, or just plain cool people you know!
