Jamaican Hibiscus Rum Cake

I’m going to Jamaica! I am so excited to lay on the tropical beaches of Jamaica with two of my best friends, celebrating a dirty thirty. We tend to go all out for birthdays. I was packing last night when I got inspired to bake a cake with the flavors of Jamaica. I have never been, but I imagine it to be quite sexy. This cake is my prediction of what it will be like. Life happens and it can be hard to break away on a vacation, I find that a sweet indulgence can take you there for a moment when a moment is all you have 🙂

I used the Rum Cake recipe from Gimme Some Oven here. It is moist and delicious! For the glaze I used My Sweet Remedy’s hibiscus glaze used on their homemade doughnuts, but I added rum to give it more of a kick!

Sprinkle with dried, crushed hibiscus and soaked hibiscus to make it look pretty! It tastes amazing!!! Tropical, sensual, floral, and tipsy. O.M.G. I’m off to Jamaica!
